Michelle Obama has joined the legions of other people addicted to the increasingly popular social media website, Pinterest. Well, not to say that she is addicted, but she has created a profile and already begun “pinning” pictures to boards named “Great Memories”, “Around the White House”, and “Father’s Day”. The timing of this profile creation is certainly no accident, what with Obama’s hope for reelection looming in the not-so-distant future and all. Recent surveys have indicated that the First Lady ha a 65% approval rating and favorable opinions from registered voters, which is a much higher percentage than her husband’s. The campaign staff will no doubt be playing on Mrs. Obama’s popularity to earn potential votes.
Only the “pins” with the signature “MO, Michele Obama’s initials, will be directly pinned from her. The rest will be from Obama’s 2012 reelection staff. Like her husband, she’s already heavily present on other social media platforms. She has over one million followers on Twitter and over seven million “likes” on Facebook.
